Questions, answered plainly.

A mail workspace. Mail arrives at your Kistrl address; Kistrl reads it, files it against the thing it is about, and shows you one screen each morning with what needs you. It is for people and small teams who get too much mail and want to deal with the parts of it that are theirs to deal with.

No. Your Kistrl username is a mailbox of its own. Give that address to the people and services you want in Kistrl, or forward mail to it from an account you already have.

Yes. A workspace can be shared with a household, a studio or a small team. Everyone in it sees the same Today, the same conversations and the same records.

Kistrl runs in the browser and can be installed as an app on a phone or a desktop. Notifications are opt-in, and only for the kinds of things you chose.

The first message from a sender you have not heard from does not land in your Inbox. It waits at the Doorway until you say where that sender belongs: Inbox, Feed, Paper trails, or Not. Kistrl remembers the choice for every later message from them.

Inbox is conversations with people. Feed is newsletters, updates and offers — things to read, not answer. Paper trails is invoices, receipts and notices, turned into records with an amount, a reference and a date.

It keeps arriving into the Not pile, where you can look at it whenever you want. Nothing is deleted; it is simply kept out of the way.

The thing a message is about: a trip, an order, a project, a claim. Kistrl recognises it and files the message there, together with the attachments, dates and to-dos it carried, so you find everything in one place.

Yes. Press W anywhere to write, or reply, reply all and forward from a conversation. Drafts are saved as you type, and a send can be taken back for a moment after you press it.

Never. Kistrl drafts; a person sends. Every draft is shown to you first, and only pressing Send puts a message on its way. This is a rule of the product, not a setting.

To tell which stream a message belongs in, to recognise the thing it is about, to notice when a message asks you something, to pull out dates, amounts and to-dos, to draft replies you approve, and to answer the questions you ask it.

A draft is a suggestion in an editor. Rewrite it, ignore it, or drop the reply altogether. You can also answer from a blank composer at any time.

No. Remote images are fetched by Kistrl when the mail arrives and served from Kistrl’s own storage, so opening a message never contacts the sender or anyone else.

No. Bodies are cleaned when they arrive and rendered inside a sandboxed frame with a strict content policy: no scripts, no forms, no outside requests.

Security notices get their own pile and a red pill in the sidebar until you have looked at them, so they are neither lost among newsletters nor mistaken for conversation.

The people you invited to it. Workspace admins manage members and billing; everyone else reads and writes mail.

In size, not in features. Every plan is the whole product; they differ in how much mail they carry and how many people share the workspace. See the pricing page for the current plans.

The workspace. One plan covers everyone in it, and a workspace admin manages it from the subscription page.

Through Stripe. Kistrl never sees your card details, and you can update your payment method or cancel through the billing portal at any time.

Your workspace stays readable and your address keeps receiving mail until the end of the period you paid for. Nothing is deleted when a plan ends.
