Delete your account
How to delete your Kistrl account, what is deleted, and how to undo it.
Last updated October 30, 2026
Delete it in the app
Sign in to Kistrl on the web, the desktop app, or the iPhone, iPad or Android app. Open Settings, then Security, then Delete account. Enter your password (and a code from your authenticator app, if you use one) and choose Delete my account.
What happens next
- Your account closes at once. You are signed out on every device, and nobody can sign in to it.
- Mail sent to your address is refused while the account is closed.
- You have 15 days to change your mind. After that, nothing can bring your account back.
- After 15 days we delete your account and everything in it: your mail, files, notes, calendar, tasks, contacts, custom domains and settings.
- Your username and your Kistrl addresses stay reserved, with nothing else attached to them, so that nobody else can register them and receive mail meant for you. This is the only thing of yours we keep on our own systems.
- If you still have a paid plan, it ends when the account is deleted, and the unused part is not refunded. Cancel it earlier in Billing if you want. Payments are handled by Stripe, which keeps the invoices the law requires it to keep. Kistrl never sees or stores your card number.
- Backups are overwritten within 30 days.
Change your mind
Within the 15 days, open Kistrl and, on the sign-in screen, choose Restore a deleted account. Enter your username and password (and your authenticator code, if you use one). Your account reopens with everything in it. Mail sent to your address while it was closed was refused and is not delivered.
If you cannot sign in
If you have lost your password or your authenticator, write to hello@okaimden.com from an address you have used with Kistrl. We will ask you to prove the account is yours, and we answer within 30 days. Recovery codes and your password are kept by you only, so we may not be able to reopen an account whose owner cannot be verified.
Before you delete
Save what you want to keep. Download the files you need, forward the mail you want to keep to another address, and export your calendars. Once the 15 days have passed, we cannot recover any of it.
